Before heading to Japan, Wendelken pitched for six seasons in the big leagues. He spent most of that time with the Athletics. Wendelken had a 3.62 ERA over five years in Oakland. The D-Backs removed him from their 40-man roster midway through the 2022 campaign.
The Padres had several relievers in their bullpen on Opening Day. robert suarez, Jason Adam and Jeremiah Estrada Everyone has a ticket for a late-innings role. Yuki Matsui and Wanda Peralta It should be in the middle innings as the Padres likely won't be able to offload a multi-year deal. Brian Hoying and Adrian Morejon He'll make the big league roster at some point, but there's no doubt he could earn a rotation spot in spring training. That may leave only one or two intermediate relief points to grab between the following. Sean Reynolds, Tom Cosgrove, stephen koleck And Bendelken.
