I decided my stamina had returned enough to try my Tuesday group outing. We did one of my favorite excursions – “around the reservoirs” plus a round trip on Casa Loma Road. I rode horizontally because it was easier on my back and less likely to cause my stenosis to flare up. I used electrical assistance when necessary to keep up. and I had plenty of battery to get me through the trip. A very enjoyable trip on a beautiful late autumn day.

After the ride was over, I had a terrible fall while getting off the bike. When I swung my leg, it caught on the frame tube and temporarily balanced itself on one leg. Before I lost it, I fell backwards, hitting my back (near my sacrum) and my head on the pavement. Luckily my helmet saved me. I now have a new helmet (not a good idea to reuse after a big impact). There is also a backache that should go away in a day or two. Time to work more on balance!
