The United States voted against a United Nations Resolution Blame Russia for its invasion of Ukraine and demanding Moscow, removing its forces from Ukrainian lands, as the Trump administration is chasing a peace deal between the two sides.
Russia and North Korea joined the United States in voting against the Ukrainian-backed Ukrainian decision, which has cleared the General Assembly by 93-18 with 65 of refraining from abstinence.
The United States then declined to vote on its competitive decision after the Europeans, led by France, succeeded in amending it to clarify Russia was the aggressor. This resolution 93-8 passed with 73, with Ukraine's vote “Yes”, abstaining from the United States, and Russia's “no” vote.

The resolution drafted by the United States submitted to the United Nations on Monday approved “the tragic loss of life throughout the Russia-Ukraine's conflict” and “demanding a quick end to the conflict and urged a permanent peace between Ukraine and Russia”, but it never mentioned Moscow aggression.
In a surprising step, France proposed three modifications, adding that the conflict was the result of a “complete invasion of Ukraine by the Russian Federation.” The amendments reaffirmed the association's commitment to the sovereignty and independence of Ukraine, the unity and regional integrity, and the call for peace that respects the United Nations Charter.
Both decisions were supported by the American allies in Asia, including Japan, South Korea, Australia, New Zealand, its neighbors Canada and European countries, except for Hungary.
US Deputy Ambassador Dorothy Xia said on Monday that many of the United Nations resolutions condemn Russia and demand the withdrawal of Russian forces “failed to stop the war”, which “has now continued for a very long time at a very terrible cost. In Ukraine, Russia and beyond.”
In the Security Council, Russia used the veto to prevent European amendments to the American decision.

Russian Ambassador Vasily Nabizia said that the American decision is “a step in the right direction, a sound initiative that reflects the will of the new administration in the White House to contribute really to a peaceful settlement in the conflict,” according to Washington Post.
