After spending a year as a year on Jobs, the man finally landed on a highly paid distant role in his dream industry. But within a few months, his habit of late night stood everything.
In the Reddit post, the employee admitted, “He was fired because I am an idiot.” He revealed that he often remains in sending text messages and scrolling, causing it to hit for 10-15 minutes on some days. Although the delay was short, they occurred several times – and attracted the attention of his manager.
When he asked, he claimed that technical problems were to blame. She said, he said, sealing his fate. “I was fired and I feel like an absolute loser.”
He confessed that the emotional toll was difficult: “The pain of losing my dream work really gets emotionally.” Despite his fault, he was called “idiot” in the post several times. He also shared that his career interests were in the aerospace or automotive industry.
The story quickly became viral at Reddit, with many weighing his actions and results. One user commented: “I know someone who had 40 minutes of commuting and always appeared early. Then they moved two blocks away and were always late.”
Another remembered, “I knew someone who was late on her WFH days so often had to be deployed on Pip … part of her pip was that she had to go to the office in time like the moon.”
Another user mocked, “Let's be an expensive lesson you can learn. Moving forward and doing better is everything you can do now.”
As for the same idea, the other user said, “It's lying. You lied and that shows the lack of integrity to many employers. You have to look at why your first idea when you do something wrong is to lie versus a mistake.
