The accident occurred during the first round of the tournament ASP Classic In Auckland when Cameron Norrie hit a forehand into the net.

Out of frustration, Nouri, who was playing in the same city where he was born, threw the racket behind him, but it appeared he threw it a little too far.

The bat hit the woman sitting in the front row, and Nouri was warned.

The woman was not harmed and played her role well.

“(The fan) was laughing, and I told him: 'So sorry, I didn't mean to do that.' She said: Yes, I'm completely fine. “It wasn't a big problem,” Nouri said after the match. “But as we've seen with some other players, you can easily default if you catch them in the wrong place or they're not looking or something.”

The racket throw occurred while Nouri was trailing 6-2, 5-3. He would lose that match shortly thereafter to forfeit the match.

Nouri said: “I have no right to do something like this at all. I apologized very quickly, and I want to apologize in general. I am not happy with the way I behaved.”

Nouri's exit from the first round comes two years after he reached the final in the tournament.
