Astro Bot from Team Asobi returned five major awards at the Dice Awards, including Game of the Year.
The game, which Sony said last night sold 1.5 million copies, also won awards for the outstanding success in animation, outstanding technical success, family game game, outstanding game design success.
Solo Game Developer Localthunk also returned three major awards at night, including awards for Strategy/Simulation Game of the Year, outstanding success for an independent game and mobile game of the year for the Roguelike Deck game -Building, Balatro (which sells five million copies).
A star-studded gathering consisting of members of the interactive entertainment industry gathered at Aria Resort & Casino for the 28th annual dice (which the group spelled the dice).
Hosted by the Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences (AIAS), the awards celebrated developers and studios developing the most grueling video game of the year. The nominees and finalists are determined by their 30,000+ members consisting of industry professionals. The awards were presented in 23 categories, celebrations of technology achievements, art, animation, stories and audio.
The Swedish game developer Arrowhead Game Studios has been fully praised by academy members for their work on Helldivers 2 (who sells 12 million copies), who returned four awards, with the outstanding success in the original composition Music, outstanding success in audio design, action game, year and online game action games and online games.
Machinegames received three awards for Indiana Jones and The Great Circle, taking home awards for outstanding personality success, outstanding game success and adventure in the year.
The Gamescience was awarded the outstanding success in Art Directions for the Black Myth: Wukong, while the Atlus' Zero studio brought home the game playing year for Metaphor: Dethazio.
The night not only celebrated the games but also celebrated two incredible industry leaders. Don James, a leader and foundation of the Nintendo of American Legacy, received a Lifetime Achievement Award for his contributions to the game industry, from his Nintendo foundation to his passions at the Starlight Children's Foundation.
Aias also honored Ted Price, President and founder of the Insomniac Games, along with the Hall of Fame Award for its contributions to the game's development, including leading games of insomnia for three decades and promoting for the Rights to the first change of video creators.
Attending game developers and industry professionals from around the world, the 28th annual Dice Awards ceremony was held on February 13th at Aria Resort & Casino. The event was live-stream by media partner Ign and hosted by the return of co-hosts Greg Miller of Kinda Funny and Stella Chung, who combined the gaming community for a night of the festival.
