If you want to see the original source code that started MicrosoftBill Gates is now sharing. On Wednesday, Microsoft co-founder posted this to him Notes of the gates Blog, remembered about the early days of the company for Its 50th anniversary. Sharing a picture of himself holding a large pile of paper showing the code, Gates wrote that he was inspired by a copy of January 1975 of the popular electronics magazine. The magazine features a capable picture of an altair 8800, a groundbreaking personal computer created by a small company called Mits.
19-year-old Gates and his Harvard Pal Paul Allen reached the creators of the Altair and told them they had a version of the main language of programming for the chip run by Altair 8800. The said software will allow people to program the Altair.
“There's only one problem,” Gates wrote. “We don't.”
Micro-soft was born
Gates said he and friends were “coded day and night for two months to create the software we said there was already.” Gates and Allen then displayed the code to the president of Mits, which was a software license. “Altair Basic has become our new company's first product, which we decided to call the micro-soft,” Gates wrote. “We dropped the hyphen.”
