China seems to use Tesla FSD Rollout as an action on trade negotiations

There are many speculations on how Elon Musk's close involvement with the new Trump administration could affect the fate of his broad business empire. On the one hand, President Trump can relieve the regulation of Tesla regulation, and provide more government contracts with Spacex. Conversely, markets that are seen as interesting in the EV industry but the anger towards the politics of the new administration, along with the costs of the cost led by Musk itself, shows that signs of SUBJECT TO TESLA.

We now see another potential adverse effect as China considers the use of Tesla as a pawn in trade negotiations.

Tesla's car sales were flat in 2024, and to maintain astronomical appreciation, Musk talked to the automaker's entire future in the awareness margin traditional business of selling cars. He now spends most of Tesla's revenues calling in the future where the autonomous fleets of “Cybercabs” will go to the streets and be replaced by human drivers. The company slowly rolls through the whole tech driving (FSD) through an optional add-on for current Tesla owners, with plans to start testing A Fully Autonomous Service Taxi In Austin once this year.

China is Tesla's second largest market, however, and the country has not yet been allowed to start the autonomous technology there. President Trump's recent move to put 10% tariffs on exported goods from China has created an opportunity for the country to use the President's confidential as action. From Financial times:

Chinese authorities are meditating with the approval of Tesla's autonomous-driving license as a bargaining chip in trade negotiations with Trump, two of the people with knowledge of delay, adding that this is the main reason for to hold-up by giving a permit.

Approval can still come as soon as possible, depending on how trade negotiations are developed, one of the people added. But another one says that some people in the company believe that a speedy consent is not likely unless there is “a major success or concession” in trade communication.

In China, competitors such as ByD rode in the forefront of Tesla selling ultra-affordable EV for the masses, which means the country does not need it there. President Trump has a useful reason to support Musk – his Super Pac War Chest has helped the President to use GOP power attacking dishonest politicians, and Musk is the idea behind the war's war's Doge to Dei and government elites that Trump has always felt against him.

China does not allow Tesla to train footage there, and the US does not allow the company to practice in China due to export restrictions. Musk says it tries to prepare itself for a country -to -nation -approofing instead by practicing its AI systems with available Chinese videos that can be accessible from the US

Musk has promised full autonomy, where passengers do not have to run a vehicle, return for years, and have always missed his own deadlines. Even today, Musk is moving to goalposts by saying full autonomy is not available to US drivers this year, but they will be able to access a more limited rideshare service to fixed areas of the Services like Austin. It is important to remember that here. And we do not know that TESLA can achieve full autonomy in the first place, approved regulation. It didn't really show feat on the scale without a human driver on the wheel like Waymo.

In another facade, Musk is a unique in favor of EV -buying incentives in the US including tax credits that have greatly benefited from his company. Cynically, critics believe he supports the move because Tesla has less adverse effects than competitors like Rivian who are still far from profitability.

This is all the world of Musk, and we just live it. How many over the next four years of moving policies will be attributed to his needs?
