Brownson also previously worked as an NFL intern with the New York Jets in 2017 and the Buffalo Bills in 2019. Before joining the Bills, she worked at the collegiate level at Dartmouth and was the first woman to coach full-time in Division I. football after becoming the program's offensive quality control coach in 2018.

In 2022, Brownson coached the U.S. Women's National Tackle Team at the International Football Federation Women's World Championship.
