More than 100 people were evacuated from a luxurious residential tower in the Argentine capital, Buenos Aires, with a fire spread across several floors, the emergency services said.
Forty people were treated for smoke inhalation and many others were accepted to the hospital before the fire was controlled.
The cause of the fire is not yet known.
The 50 -storey building is located in the exclusive Porto Madiro neighborhood.
Alberto Chrischi, head of emergency services at Buenos Aires, told the local media that the fire “extended to the fifteenth floor”.
He said that the broken glass fell from the windows.
“Fortunately, it was a very fast evacuation, which means that people are not at risk,” he added.
Firefighters, Christian Benitez News Agency Agency Agency, told AFP that all the population was dangerous.
“I heard the fire warning and removed the basement as quickly as possible,” ORILLA Gril, 30, told AFP outside the building.
“I saw smoke and got down with my son and my father,” said Mariano Pavon, a former footballer who played with Argentine River River byte and the Spanish club Real Betis, who lives in the building, Nuchias Argentine News Agency.
“Fortunately, nothing happened to my apartment. I am keen on my neighbors. Fortunately, it was just a intimidation.”
