The company is introducing a new tab of friends on Facebook that will only show updates from friends, without other recommended content. Meta explained in a blog post that the idea was to restore features dedicated to the original Facebook mission to connect people with friends through a social networking experience.
The tab, which is initially available only in the US and Canada, will feature the content of friends, including their posts, reels, stories, birthdays, and friend requests.
In the past, the tab just provided a place to view your friend's requests and other “people you may know.”

The new friend tab is available through the navigation bar to the Facebook home feed and can be accessible through the app bookmarks section, the company says.
Users can also choose to -Pin their friends tab on their home feed to make it more convenient. To do this, click Settings and Privacy > Settings > Tab bar. You can choose to customize your Tab Bar and can –pin the new tab there.
