The Beatles won a Grammy on Sunday night, almost 55 years after the famous band, thanks to a little help from artificial intelligence.
The band's song, today and then, was released in November 2023, made history for being the first track to be assisted by ai-taying at a Grammy's home. The song, which won Best Rock Performance, beat Pearl Jam, St. Vincent, the black keys and idles.
“Now and then” was also appointed for the Record of the Year but lost to Kendrick Lamar's “Not Like Us.”
The Song Featuring a former unhapposed -with the recording of the late John Lennon singing and playing the piano. Lennon's wife Yoko Ono, shared recording with the remaining beatles after his death.
With advanced machine learning software, engineers were able to exclude Lennon's voice from the piano track. Over the years, Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr and the late George Harrison worked on the song, later added their parts to create a new song featuring all four members of the band.

Although AI was used to manufacture, it fits inside the Grammy Guidelinesstating that “only human creators are worthy” and that work featuring “AI material elements” are allowed in certain categories.
The win arrives at a time where the music industry is taking determining the appropriate use of AI and how it will affect creativity and authenticity in making music. Recognition also features how an AI's help can drive a change and creative expression while honoring the artists' legacy. AI is especially used in the music industry, though not everyone supports it.

Lennon's son Sean, told the movie that he was moved by the process that was part of his father's voice of a new Beatles song.
“My dad liked it, because he wasn't ashamed of experimenting with technology recording,” Sean said. “I think it's really nice.”
