Prosecutor Paulo Gunnett said on Tuesday that those who face charges seek to keep Bolsonaro in power “at any cost”, in a multilateral scheme accelerated after the extremist right -wing politician lost to the current president.
As he was accused in February, Gunnett said that part of the plot guaranteed a plan to kill Lula and Justice Alexander de Morris, who were placed under observation by alleged conspirators.
Junnett said that the plan did not advance because at the last minute, the accused failed to obtain the army commander on board.
Junnett said: “The frustration overwhelmed the members of the criminal organization who did not abandon the violent seizure of power, even after the president -elect for the republic has performed the oath,” Junnett said.
