George Edward Foreman was born on January 10, 1949 in Marshall, Texas, whose career in amateur boxing reached its climax in the 1968 Olympic Games in Mexico City, where he won a gold medal and waved a small American flag after his victory.

A major change occurred in 1977: Soon after the loss of the fighting in front of American boxer Jimmy Young, Foreman abandoned boxing and turned into religion, becoming a minister in 1978. He later established the George Foreman Center for Youth, Society and the Church of the Lord Jesus Christ.

BBC told his defeat in front of Ali, “The best thing for me ever” because he finally led him to “direct my message” through preaching.

After nearly ten years of boxing, Foreman decided to choose gloves again in 1987 and return to the ring to raise money for his youth center. During his successful return to sport, 24 games won before losing to Ivander Hoelphld after 12 rounds in 1991.

Foreman had 12 children – including five children, all of whom were also called George. He is photographed here with his son George III. He once made it clear that he called them to himself so “they will always have something common.” He continued his work in the church until his death, a preacher in his ministry four times a week, according to his website.
