The American, known as Big George in the Ring, is known for contracts starting in the 1960s, and won gold in the Olympic Games and many title belts, including the world title for heavyweight twice.

George Edward Foreman was born on January 10, 1949 in Marshall, Texas, whose career in amateur boxing reached its climax in the 1968 Olympic Games in Mexico City, where he won a gold medal and waved a small American flag after his victory.
In his autobiography, he said he waved science “for me as much as the country.”
“I told everyone who I was and at the same time say I am proud to be an American.”

After turning into a professional in 1969, the ranks soon rose. By 1972, he had a winning series of 37 battle – 35 of which was a judge. His first shot in the World Heavyweight Championships came in 1973, when he came out of the then achieved world champion, Joe Fraser.

Foreman won the title at the age of 24, and defended him twice.

Foreman then lost the title of heavy weight against Muhammad Ali in his famous 1974 in the battle of the forest. To wear Foreman, he spent eight rounds of ropes, a tactic called “Rope-A-Dope”.
He once called the loss “the most embarrassing moment” in his life.
“I could not believe that I lost the world title,” he said, adding: “It has moved from pride to compassion. This is destroyed.
Foreman said that his opponent was “the most difficult person I had ever.”

A major change occurred in 1977: Soon after the loss of the fighting in front of American boxer Jimmy Young, Foreman abandoned boxing and turned into religion, becoming a minister in 1978. He later established the George Foreman Center for Youth, Society and the Church of the Lord Jesus Christ.
BBC told his defeat in front of Ali, “The best thing for me ever” because he finally led him to “direct my message” through preaching.

After nearly ten years of boxing, Foreman decided to choose gloves again in 1987 and return to the ring to raise money for his youth center. During his successful return to sport, 24 games won before losing to Ivander Hoelphld after 12 rounds in 1991.

In 1994, it took a blow to a new project, to become the face of George Foreman Grill – also known as the “lean fat barbecue”. In the boxing ring, he is also the oldest heavy weight hero aged 45 years old in the same year. Three years after boxing retired, in 1997, he collected an amazing record of 76 wins and 5 losses.

Foreman had 12 children – including five children, all of whom were also called George. He is photographed here with his son George III. He once made it clear that he called them to himself so “they will always have something common.” He continued his work in the church until his death, a preacher in his ministry four times a week, according to his website.
