“I have a title … actually two …”: but this Iit-iim alumna decided to sell the sari instead

Radhik Munshi's career seemed to have been set in the stone-absolvent Iit Rokoree and Iim Ahmedabad, Topper in IIM and highly paid corporate work that will be shown. She was exactly where she was supposed to be. But five years ago, if someone told her to leave it all to sell sari, she wouldn't believe it.

“I have a title … in fact two (from Iit and IIM) if you are interested,” Munshi shared in an Instagram post. “Five years ago, if someone told me to sell sari, I would laugh.”

At the beginning of her company career, she realized that the routine was not 9 to 5 for her. Even more importantly, she noticed the gaps – there were not many Saree brands that really resonated with modern, working women. This implementation planted the seed for Anor, the Saree brand, which was launched in 2023.

“Five years ago, I focused only on landing the highest paid work,” she admitted. “But building my own, despite the rise and falls, is much more beneficial than any payout.”

The transition was not easy. Leaving behind financial security brought moments of doubt, but the loyalty of its customers assured it. “When they were returning, I knew I was on the right track,” she said.

Munshi also sincerely spoke of the sentence she met on the way. “Unfortunately, the company has a very limited opinion of success,” she said. Since the start of her business, however, has found a devoted customer base and many of them have returned to another.

“But the love I have received is extremely stunning… When we read DMS about how much our customers love our sari, our hearts fulfill so much pride,” she said.

Looking back would not change anything. “Life lasts unexpected turns … and I'm so happy that my end,” she shared. While she once persecuted the highest package, she now finds a fulfillment in building something.
