CEO of Kroger Co. Rodney McMullen resigned to his place after investigating his personal behavior, the company announced on Monday.
In his statement, Kroger said McMullena's behavior “is not related to the company” but still “incompatible with Kroger's policy on business ethics”. McMullena's removal comes months after the end of Kroger Fusion of $ 25 billion With Albertsons under his leadership. Albertsons sued Kroger for breach of the contract and claimed to refuel the agreement.
“On 21 February, the Council was informed of Mr. McMullen's personal behavior and immediately kept outside the independent advisor for investigations supervised by the Special Commission for Council. Mr. McMullena's behavior is not related to the financial performance, operation or reporting of the company, and has not included any co -workers, ”the company said in its statement.
Ronald Sargent was now appointed Chairman of the Board of Directors and Temporary CEO with McMullen's Place.

Sargent has been the director of Kroger since 2006 and has been working as the Chief Director of Kroger since 2017. He spent the first 10 years of his professional career in Kroger and worked in several roles across shops, sales, marketing, production and strategies. Sargent is a veteran retail operator and leader with 35 years of experience, including as chairman and CEO of Staples, Inc., says Kroger.
