Maha Kumbh 2025: Harry Potter lookalike spotted in Prayagraj! Netizens ask “Yeh Daniel Radcliffe to nahi hai nahi hai?”


Foreign tourists from all over the world have arrived at the Maha Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh. A video of a man resembling a fictional character from Harry Potter has gone viral on social media.

In this undated video, a man dressed in jeans and a jacket is seen casually enjoying prasad from a disposable plate. Needless to say, the video has sparked popular curiosity as to whether Daniel Radcliffe is actually participating in a religious event.

“Yeh Daniel Radcliffe to nahi hai nahi hai?” the user asked. “Mujhe q lg rha h you Daniel Radcliffe as Harry Potter,” said another user.

“Harry Potter enjoyed the prasad,” said a third user. “Bhai Harry Potter jaisa dikh raha hai (sic),” commented a fourth user.

“That's the beauty of Sanatan Dharma,” commented a user.

“He looks like an actor from Harry Potter,” commented another user. “Harry Potter at the Kumbh mela,” said another user. “Harry Potter jhadu se ud kr agya,” another user said jokingly.

Harry Potter is a fictional character brought to life by British author JK Rowling in a series of books that were adapted into a popular film franchise. British actor Daniel Radcliffe played the role in the films.

From January 11 to 20, about 8.79 lakh pilgrims took a holy dip in the Sangam. The Maha Kumbh mela officially started on January 13 with the Paush Purnima bath, but devotees started arriving from January 11 itself.

The Maha Kumbh Mela 2025 will end on February 26. The Maha Kumbh is unique as it marks the completion of 12 cycles of the Kumbh Mela and is held once every 144 years, with the previous event of its kind taking place in 1881.

More than 45 million people are expected to attend the mega event. To accommodate the pilgrims, the authorities set up a temporary city of about 4,000 hectares. The temporary city features tents with a capacity of 1.5 million people, improved sanitation facilities, and improved transportation facilities.
