Mahindra to raise SUVs and CV prices up to 3% from April joining rivals because input costs of tension


Since April, Mahindra & Mahindra will increase the prices of its SUVs and commercial vehicles by up to 3 percent. The company said it absorbed most of the increasing initial costs, but was now forced to hand over part of the burden of the buyer.

The growth of prices will vary between different SUV models and commercial vehicles, Mahindra said in its official statement.

This comes on the heels of the Robust February for a car based in Mumbai. Last month, Mahindra showed a total of 83,702 vehicles, which meant a 15 % increase year -on -year, including exports. In its segment of the flagship of commercial vehicles, home sales were 50,420 units – by 19 percent – while total UV sales, including exports, reached 52,386 units. The sale of commercial vehicles on the domestic market was 23,826 units.

The company also recorded a strong traction in its tractor segment. The total sale of tractors (domestic and exports) touched 25,527 pieces in February 2025, which is compared to 21,672 pieces a year ago. The domestic sales themselves rose to 23,880 pieces out of 20 121 in February 2024, while exports per month were 1,647 units.

Mahindra has joined the growing list of cars that have been increasing the prices of vehicles since April and quoting increasing input costs. Various car manufacturers including Maruti Suzuki India, Hyundai Motor, Tata Motors, Kia India, BMW and Honda Cars have announced that they will increase the prices of vehicles that are raising with rising input costs from next month.

Maruti Suzuki and Hyundai Motor India, two of Mahindra's biggest competitors, also announced a price increase since April. Kia, Honda and Tata Motors have already announced an increase in prices due to rising input costs. Luxury car manufacturers, such as BMW, also confirmed the price increase from next month.

On Friday, M&M shares closed 1.08 percent lower to 2,799.30 GBP per BSE.
