Like the approaching darkness TikTok As Saturday got closer and closer, many of the brands that found space on the app decided to talk secrets and share some humor to lighten the mood.

brands like Wendy's, Sour Patch Kids, Scrub dad, oreos, and DuolingoThey took the last few hours of TikTok as a chance to leave a lasting impression on their followers.

While we know TikTok has relaunched, for many it took 14 hours, so let's take a look at some humorous goodbye videos from brands to remember what felt like hours back in January. 1, 2000 (if you're old enough to remember the confusion and sense of impending doom).

Duolingo had some fun in the days leading up to TikTok's blackout

Duolingo no stranger to poking fun at their marketing. They shared a lot of videos that left a good impression on the viewers. So, of course, the end of TikTok would mean that they would be upping their game and spreading some joy and truth.

In one of their recent videos, Family Guy came clean about one of their ongoing secrets, using the voice of “Griffins4U.”

In a viral video with over 10 million views, they reveal who is in the owl costume.

“Since we're all going to die, I have a secret to share with you,” chimes in as the iconic Duolingo owl enters the frame. The costume is removed, revealing “Mark was in the Duo mascot costume the whole time.”

“Imagine if TikTok wasn't banned and now we know everyone's secret,” one viewer called him out. Moments ago, after TikTok made a comeback, Duolingo commented, “well, that's awkward.”

Before the app was blacked out, Duolingo shared several videos about learning Mandarin and switching to RedNote.

'This One Time I'll Be Sweet'

Sour Patch Kids TikTok decided to “be cute for once” with a short but “sweet” video showing a blue Sour Patch Kid exiting an elevator in the final hours of TikTok, “I'm on my way to buy Tiktok so I don't get banned tomorrow.”

The comment section shared more goodbyes and many of them humorously. Ollie's Bargain Outlet commented, “After TikTok is gone, I hope you all achieve all your dreams and goals in life. It was an honor to share this app with you and those good times. Good luck in life,” Sour Patch Kids replied, “I love who you are I don't know.”

Another viewer brought up the ongoing beef between Sour Patch Kids and Oreo: “Oreo has been really quiet since this dropped.” Sour Patch Kids answered “exactly.”

One person said: “Why does my search function suggest: 'What has Oreo done to children?' Why am I learning this now that TikTok will be gone in just a few hours,” to which the Sour Patch Kids “know what they're doing.”

Shortly after TikTok returned to the US this morning, Sour Patch Kids shared a video: “TikTok is really sour, sweet, gone, SIKE said.”

Charmin commented, “YES MY BEST FRIEND IS BACK TOO,” and Hot Pockets added, “oh it's active.” Many other comments were egging the page on to fight Oreo more.

Speaking of Oreos…

Oreos on Saturday shared a teaser video announcing the new flavors. They didn't actually go through with it, but many took to the comments to chat about the Sour Patch Kids beef.

“So Sour Patch Kids is throwing shade at you,” one person wrote. Another said: “The Turush Patch Kids are trying to save us… and you're just teasing us.”

While some viewers shared their thoughts on the new cookie flavors, many were left wondering whether Oreo vs. Sour Patch Kids wanted their fight to be strong.

“I'm eating some Sour Patch Kids right now,” one person shared. Another said: “I was just watching Sour Patch Kids.”

Wendy's is known not only for its fast food but also for its dark and goofy humor on social media. Many of their posts left viewers scratching their heads trying to figure out what was going on. Maybe it's just clever marketing to keep people coming back for more, but whatever, it's fun.

Scrub Daddy TikTok had some fun before it went dark

Scrub dadpopular sponge brand took a fun approach to saying goodbye to TikTok. A few days before TikTok went dark, they shared a video titled “This isn't goodbye. See you somewhere else” where they mentioned some of the good times and benefits of being on the app. Of course, there were plenty of laughs too.

The video includes their partnership with Duolingo, multiple scenes with their CEO, a giant yellow Scrub Daddy, and a big thank you to their 4 million+ followers.

Other video there was a slightly different vibe they shared. The video reveals the latest truth shared by viewers who have left interesting comments.

“I DO IT FIRST!” one person wrote. Another added: “Today's algorithm is absolutely insane and I'm here for it.” “TikTok's season finale was WILD,” said another viewer.
