NEW YORK (AP) — Anthony Edwards was fined $100,000 by the NBA on Sunday for using profanity during a live television interview, the league increasing the amount after fining the Minnesota Timberwolves star for the third time in three weeks. .
The penalty was for comments Edwards made after the Timberwolves rallied to a 113-112 win in Houston on Friday. The NBA said in a release that it was considering “Edwards’ history of using profanity in media interviews.”
He was fined $75,000 on Monday for public criticism of his officiating and use of profanity after receiving $25,000 for his comments during a Dec. 6 game at Golden State.
Edwards was also fined $35,000 on Nov. 17 for making an obscene gesture in court.
