NBA DFS Picks for Daily Fantasy Basketball from DraftKings and FanDuel (24/12/28)

Nikola Jokic - NBA DFS Lineup Picks, Betting Picks, Daily Fantasy Basketball

We're excited to return with a new wave of NBA RotoBallers. In this article I've focused on the best plays that traditionally focus on cash games. However, as someone who rarely deals with cash formats and with over a decade of NBA DFS experience, I am generally choosing picks with high upside. This means it provides the stable floor needed for cash games while still meeting the high ceilings required for tournaments.

The NBA's seven-game schedule is underway tonight. I mean it when I say there's a lot going on in the future. Giannis Antetokounmpo, Anthony Davis, Domantas Sabonis, lebron james, Joel Embiidand Damian Lillard They all have legitimate injury designations, so you should monitor the news and adjust accordingly. The Knicks are coming off a big win over the Wizards, while the Pistons-Nuggets and Bucks-Bulls games are the most interesting from a daily fantasy perspective. luka doncic It's still out there, so we'll get another night on the cheap. Kyrie Irving The same goes for the Mavericks' role players.

The key to success in NBA DFS is to make adjustments throughout the day as injury information is released. However, it is important to always have a game plan and focus on the best players and positions before making any adjustments. Good luck, RotoBallers!

today's NBA DFS Core Recommendations

Here's a look at some of the high-value players that can be used as components of cash and GPP contests.

Nikola Jokic He is the top option on the slate because he is always on every slate he is on. The three-time MVP averaged an impressive 67.3 DK points per game this season, exceeding 65 DK points in the Dec. 8-12 contest. He has the highest ceiling on the slate, and while his matchup with the Pistons frontcourt isn't ideal, it's about as good a matchup as a player can get.

Karl Anthony Towns Another key piece for me tonight. He's coming off two disappointing games, but a matchup against the Wizards is just what the doctor ordered. Washington is allowing the most fantasy points per game overall this season and the most fantasy points per game to centers. They are having trouble allowing points and 3-pointers in positions that perfectly match Towns' game.

Lastly, Kyrie Irving will be a key part of my lineup construction on this slate. Irving has struggled with his shot recently and hasn't shown much explosiveness with Doncic out of the lineup, but this is his chance to put up tournament-winning fantasy points. Portland allows the fourth-most fantasy points per game to PGs this season, and these games should be competitive enough for Irving to take charge and crush value on his cheap salary.

  1. Nikola Jokic, DEN vs. DET – C ($11,900 DK, $12,300 FD)
  2. Karl-Anthony Towns, NYK @ WAS – C ($9,700 DK, $9,500 FD)
  3. Kyrie Irving, DAL @ POR – PG/SG ($8,400 DK, $9,100 FD)

today's NBA DFS Value Picks

Here we talk about salary savings. Whether it's a very underpriced backup or just a guy who plays like someone who should be priced higher, you'll find someone who makes the lineup work here.

Today's best value picks, sorted by fantasy points per dollar:

This is a rough value board, but you can almost see players jumping out when they hear injury news. I'm just looking at you Trace Jackson-Davis, Dear Achiuwa, And Anunoby, Derek Lively IIme and Lois O'Neill By prioritizing values.

Best Value Play:

  1. Trace Jackson-Davis, GSW vs. PHX – C ($4,300 DK; $5,200 FD)
  2. Precious Achiuwa, NYK @ WAS – PF/C ($3,500 DK) DraftKings only
  3. AND Anunoby, NY @ WAS – SF/PF ($5,800 DK, $6,600 FD)

today's NBA DFS Pick: Point Guard

Kyrie Irving is the star of the show here. great Cade Cunningham Against the Nuggets, he was in good form and didn't defend PG well. Kyrie has a similar cap hit with $1,800 less in salary, and he can't give up that savings because Jokic chose to take that deficit. Irving is going to have a huge performance, and I don't see why we can't expect that to happen against a leaky Portland defense.

Thinking about recent Spike games, Jalen Brunson and Jamal Murray I'll mix those two into the lineup because I feel like they're too cheap. But Irving has a higher ceiling at this point.

Main PG options:

  1. Kyrie Irving, DAL @ POR ($8,400 DK; $9,100 FD)
  2. Jamal Murray, DEN vs. IT ($7,400 DK, $7,900 FD)

today's NBA DFS Pick: Shooting Guard

Irving and Murray can also play at SG, so we'll focus our analysis on the other options. Michal Bridges It's erratic, but it looks really good in a matchup against one of the most forgiving defenses in the NBA. He'll play 40 minutes tonight against the Wizards, so I have no problem attacking him for his middling salary.

Austin Reeves Another priority for me in that position. He posted a 26/10/10 triple-double and 60.5 DK points against the Warriors on Christmas Day. He won't do that again, but we could see him make another big performance against a weak Kings defense. If LeBron or Davis are out, he'll make a great play.

Best SG options:

  1. Kyrie Irving, DAL @ POR ($8,400 DK; $9,100 FD)
  2. Mikal Bridges, NYK @ WAS ($6,100 DK; $6,400 FD)
  3. Jamal Murray, DEN vs. IT ($7,400 DK, $7,900 FD)
  4. Austin Reeves, LAL vs. SAC ($6,500 DK; $6,900 FD)

today's NBA DFS Pick: Small Forward

You can mix and match OG Anunoby, Mikal Bridges, and three Knicks starters at small forward tonight. Josh Hart SF preliminaries. I like Hart best because of his high rebound total, but he's also the most expensive of the trio. All three of these are viable on this slate, and Anunoby may be overlooked by box score watchers as he has had two dud performances in a row.

Royce O'Neale is another option to consider at a reasonable price. He produced two straight games with 30 minutes of play and at least 30 DK points. Devin Booker It's missing from the lineup. They're scheduled to play about 30 minutes tonight, and despite the poor playing conditions, the Warriors have allowed the 10th-most fantasy points per game overall this season.

Best SF Options:

  1. Josh Hart, NYK @ WAS ($6,700 DK; $7,300 FD)
  2. Mikal Bridges, NYK @ WAS ($6,100 DK; $6,400 FD)
  3. AND Anunoby, NYK @ WAS ($5,800 DK, $6,600 FD)
  4. Royce O'Neill, PHX @ GSW ($5,200 DK, $5,500 FD)

today's NBA DFS Pick: Power Forward

Anunoby and Hart qualify and have PF, and I like another Knick in Precious Achiuwa, who is the lowest-paid player on DraftKings. But we have to mention LeBron James, who is worth less than $10,000. If he plays, we will prioritize him. He's averaging 59.3 DK PPG over his last three games, so $9,500 for a future Hall of Famer is too cheap.

Best PF options:

  1. LeBron James, LAL vs. SAC ($9,500 DK; $9,800 FD)
  2. Josh Hart, NYK @ WAS ($6,700 DK; $7,300 FD)
  3. AND Anunoby, NYK @ WAS ($5,800 DK; $6,600 FD)

today's NBA DFS Pick: Center

Jokic will be the mainstay of my lineup. He should also be a mainstay in the lineup.

I know I've mentioned the Knicks a lot as the top pick on this slate, but they're not more interesting than Towns. KAT has hit three of his last five down games, but we've seen plenty of 60-70 DK point games from him this season to continue to perform well. As mentioned in the article, the matchup is no better than Wizard's. He makes for an interesting transition in a non-Yokik lineup.

Jackson-Davis and Achiuwa are value options I'll be in the mix, but Jokic will primarily be the centerpiece tonight.

Top C options:

  1. Nikola Jokic, DEN vs. IT ($11,900 DK, $12,300 FD)
  2. Karl-Anthony Towns, NYK @ WAS ($9,700 DK; $9,500 FD)

today's Best NBA DFS Game Stacks

  1. Nugget to Piston (o/u 232.5)

today's Best NBA DFS Things to Avoid

You won't get a share of Domantas Sabonis tonight. He's been playing well, but he doesn't have the cap room he gets from all the other players in his salary range.
