The Minister of the Union for Road, Transport and Motorway Nitin Gadkari said on Saturday that the government should introduce national policy for tolls on national highways to ensure a reasonable concession to significantly reduce commuting.
Minister of the Union in Mumbai on BT Mindrush 2025 said that this policy is ready and expected to be announced 1 April. He did not share more details on politics, but that people would no longer be bicked at the toll level on the national highways.
“I will announce a toll policy before April 1. It will offer commuting reasonable concession,” Gadkari said.
On Thursday at Lok Sabha, the Minister said that the government plans to introduce an annual system system that will replace the toll collection on national motorways, increases operational efficiency and supports comfort for road users.
The Ministry of Transport also called for a design application (RFP) to implement automatic numeric plates (ANPR) based on barriers based on a free barrier system “Gharonda, Coryasi, Nedi, Uer-II and Dwarka Connection”, with their implementation for project implementation and project efficiency.
Gadkari said there was no lack of money, but budget allocation expenses need to be increased.
“Currently, the Nhai toll revenue is 55,000 R and the next two years it will be 1.40 lakh crore.
The Minister said he would want poor people to invest in highway construction and offer 8.05% interest compared to 4.5% of the banks offered for deposits. He also said that 36 Green Express motorways were built to drastically reduce logistics costs.
