The governor of the state, Gavin Newose, from California for a long time of the opponent and the goal, from President Donald Trump.
But the country's most populated state ruler, and one of the leaders of the Democratic Party in the resistance against the second Trump administration and a potential White House competitor in 2028, leaves politics aside because it works feverish to secure more federal assistance to people and companies destroyed by deadly forest fires last month in Metropolitan Los Angeles.
“Thank you, President Trump, for coming to our societies to see this directly and meet with me today to continue our joint efforts to support affected persons,” Newsom said In a statement on Wednesday evening after it occurred with the president at the White House.
In a video posted on social media, the ruler said: “So, here in the White House. I just finished the leaders about disaster and recovery from disasters for firefighting people in southern California.”
FRENEMIES: News The hat is handy to meet Trump at the White House
Newsom described his meetings with Trump and members of Congress as “a spirit of cooperation and cooperation … specific.”
His first ruler's journey was in Washington, DC, since Trump took over at the White House and is part of his efforts to secure additional federal financing to help recover in the wildfire from Destroyed This killed 29 people, destroyed more than 12,000 homes and forced tens of thousands to evacuate.
Late last month, the ruler agreed to $ 2.5 billion for fire recovery work, which he hoped to be compensated by the federal government.
The state may need more assistance from the federal government because the bill to cover the reconstruction costs is expected to reach tens of billions of dollars.

After his meeting with Trump and his interruption in the Capitol Hill, newsom stressed that “we continue to cut the red tape to accelerate the recovery and cleaning efforts as well as ensuring quick reconstruction efforts. We are working across the corridor, as we always have, to ensure that the survivors get the resources and support they need.”
Relationships between newsom and Trump were not always very harmonious.
Their hostility dates back to the President of Trump the first time in 2016, when Newsom was a governor of California.
While they were seeking a common floor sometimes during the first period of Trump at the White House, it resumed verbal fireworks over the past two years as newsom has been a major alternative to the campaign for former President Joe Biden and former Vice President Kamala Harris, who replaced Biden as a holder Standard for Democrats for the year 2024 last summer.
NEWSOM regularly criticized Trump, and returned the former and future president thanks to charity, as he treated news and Blue California strongly as a political bag.
After Trump's convincing electoral victory over Harris in November, New Zram moved to “Trump resisting” his blue state.
“He uses the term” Trump “as a way to stop all the great things that can be done” to make California great again, “but I won an overwhelming majority in the elections,” Trump replied.
But newsom continued, earlier this week, California lawmakers agreed to $ 25 million in the legal funding proposed by the democratic ruler to challenge the actions of the Trump administration. The legislature also allocated another $ 25 million to legal groups to defend unconventional immigrants who face a possible deportation through the efforts of the new Trump administration.

After the fires erupted early last month, Trump has repeatedly criticized the treatment of New Roosom to the crisis. The ruler was accused of mismanagement of policy of forests and water, and he referred to a severe violent reaction because of the perceived lack of preparation, called newsom to step down.
“Newscum must resign. This is all his mistake !!!” Trump was accused in a post on social media on January 8, with a repetition of a humiliating name often describing the ruler.
Trump also blamed the deadly forest fires on the mayor of Los Angeles Karen Bass, another democratic, and the policies approved by the state lawmakers. In an executive order issued last month, the state's land and water resources management described it as “catastrophic”.
Newsom pushed back. From the displacement of Trump, the ruler indicated that the tanks in the southern part of California were full when they lit the fires for the first time, and he argued that no amount of water could treat fires that reach winds of up to 100 miles per hour.
Newsom also also claimed the spread of “Hurricane Wind Wind of Bad Information and Displacement.”
But when Trump arrived in Los Angeles late last month to wipe the first damage – just four days after his inauguration as a president – the ruler received him at the airport.
“Thank you first for your presence here. This means a lot to all of us,” said New Roir Trams, receiving the president upon his arrival in Los Angeles last month. “We will need your support. We will need to help you.”
The president announced that “we look forward to finishing something. The way you complete is to work together.”
Before his station in Los Angeles, Trump threatened to block wild assistance until some conditions were met in California, including changes in water policy and required an identity to vote.

“It has not been discussed, and I hope we can exceed this,” New Noer said on Thursday.
“It seems that some of the circumstances around which it was just noise, for me, is a little simple. At the end of the day, we are all in this.”
Newsom has also fought in recent weeks in returning to Negro Trump.
After Trump's orders, the American Army Engineers Corps last week opened two dams in central California, allowing about 2.2 billion gallons of water flow from the tanks.
Trump celebrated the movement in the jobs in fact on Friday and Sunday, declaring, “Water flows in California”, and added water “heading to farmers throughout the state, and to Los Angeles.”
But water experts have argued that the newly released water would not flow into Los Angeles, and are wasted by launching it during the wet winter in California.
NEWSOM, which apparently aims to rebuild the work relationship that had with Trump during the term of the first president at the White House, has not raised any objections to the release of water.
“For news, it is not just another catastrophe, it's the next catastrophe. Because when you are the ruler of California, you know in the non -far -long future, there will be more forest fires, floods or earthquakes, and it will need help from the federal government confirmed,” Jack Beiti , The veteran political scientist in California at Clairemont Makina College.

Beit has argued that “whatever (Newsos) is thinking about Trump, he needs the assistance of the president.”
But looking forward, he pointed out that newsom “is called within two years. So, as soon as he is no longer a ruler, he could be a party and a reward as he wants. However, at the present time, it should be suspended.”
