Nvidia has opened a new AI platform for teaching people how to use American Sign Language to help bridge communication gaps.
The platform of signs creates a proven dataset for sign language students and developers of ASL-based applications.
It happens that American Sign Language is the third most widespread language in the United States –
But there are extensive fewer AI tools developed by ASL data than data representing the most common, English and Spanish languages.
Nvidia, the American Society for Deaf Children and Creative Agency Hello Monday helps close this space with signs, an interactive web platform developed to support ASL study and the development of accessible ones AI application.
Language students can access the proven library of the ASL platform signs to expand their vocabulary with the help of an 3D avatar showing signs-and to use an AI tool that reviews the Webcam footage to receive real-time feedback on their sign. Signers of any skill level can contribute by signing specific words to help develop an open resource video for ASL.
