Openai released updates Monday for Advanced Voice Mode, the AI Voice feature that enables real-time talks with ChatGPT, to make AI Assistant more personable.
Manuka Stratta, an Openai post-training researcher, announced changes to a video posted Monday to the company officer Social Media channels.
The latest update of Openai aims to address a frequent problem with AI voice assistants, which will interfere with users when they pause to think or breathe deeply.
Free ChatGPT users now have access to a new version of Advanced Voice Mode that allows users to -Pause, without interrupted, when speaking to the AI's assistant. Paying ChatGPT users – including subscribers at Openai's Plus, teams, EDUs, businesses, and pro tier – can now get more frequent interruptions when using advanced voice mode, as well as an enhanced personality for the voice assistant.
An Openai spokesman for TechCrunch tells the new AI's new voice assistant for users' payment is “more direct, engaging, concise, specific, and creative in its answers.”
Improvements in advanced voice mode come in the middle of intense pressure from competitors to the Ai's auxiliary space in the AI voice.
Sesame-an Andreessen horowitz-backed startup created by Oculus Cofounder Brendan Irge-recently went viral for its natural sound assistants in AI's voice, Maya and miles. Larger players also step more aggressively in the Ai's auxiliary space, such as Amazon, preparing Release of LLM version powered by Alexa.
