Buena Vista (BV) Parks and Recreation announced that teams are still available to sign up for the Adult Indoor Soccer Open League. Open League (formerly Men's League) will be held every Tuesday from January 14th to March 11th from 6 PM to 10 PM.
The deadline for team registration is Friday, January 3rd. After this date a $50 team fee will be charged.
There is a maximum of 8 teams per league. Registration and more information are available online.
The player registration fee for the Open League is $30. There is no team fee. Players must be 16 years of age or older.
The game will be held at Darren Patterson Christian Academy (DPCA), located at 518 South San Juan Avenue.
The game is played 5v5. A team must have at least 7 players on its roster. A replacement is recommended.
The game consists of two halves of 20 minutes each with a clock. Halftime lasts approximately 5 minutes. The player calls his foul.
Open leagues have no requirements for a specific number of men or women on the court or roster at one time.
People who are interested in playing but do not have a team can contact BV Recreation and let them know they would like to join a team.
The men's league was changed to an open league last season due to a decrease in team registration. At BV Rec, there were fewer men's teams wanting to play and more coed teams.
Teams in open leagues may include players who are all male, female, or of mixed gender.
The adult indoor soccer co-ed league is already at capacity.
