Auschwitz survivors have begun celebrations on the 80th anniversary of the liberation of the Nazi concentration camp in Poland.
People walked to the “Wall of Death” and left candles to pay their respects outside Block 11 in Auschwitz, where thousands of prisoners were executed by SS officers.
Polish President Andrzej Duda also gave a speech outlining the first part of Salute Day.
