The viral video published by two men from Scotland lit a sharp debate on Instagram after accusing the Goa Racism Night Club against the Indians. In the video, Ryan Williams, who describes himself as a Korean original man living in Scotland, he claims that he and his friend Robin Alderslowe got free entry into the club. At the same time, the Indian locals were waiting outside.
Williams described the post “Racist Night Club in Goa”, referred to Alderslowe, which is seen wearing traditional Scottish clothing and even plays bagpipes inside the venue. The video shows that the couple goes directly to the club and bypasses the front of the Indian patrons waiting for the entry.
The video quickly gathered attention and triggered a wave of divided reactions online. Some users condemned alleged discriminatory practices of the night club, while others prevented the situation, suggesting that cultural behavior can affect initial policy.
One user wrote: “As an Indian most Indian men, they lack civic meaning and consent (very little is decent), even if they go to other countries. So some good had to stay outside with most of the Nechov. “He added:“ Goa was very good for foreigners. Indian local tourists sometimes have no behavior. They fall out on the beaches, shit on the beaches and, moreover, they commit everyday crimes in Goa, mostly driving under the influence of alcohol. ”
However, not all comments prevented the club's events. One user emphasized the wider problem of bias and said, “It is really sad that this problem is not limited to India, but also happens in other places. A few bad apples give many respectful Indians a bad name. ”
Another honestly pointed to a colonial hangover in social attitudes: “Asians love to treat foreigners better than the locals.”
The night club has to respond to the accusation, but the incident ruled interviews about racism, privileges and cultural bias in popular tourist centers such as Goa.
