Red Sox must prepare offense after key bullpen dominoes fall

The Boston Red Sox entered the offseason with several needs. They are still looking for a right-handed bat while already upgrading their starting rotation with Garrett Crochet and Walker Buehler.

The departures of free agents Kenley Jansen and Chris Martin prompted Boston's need to overhaul the back end of its bullpen. Justin Slaten needs to take another step forward and Liam Hendriks is ready to make his debut for his new team following Tommy John surgery. That said, the Red Sox still need another differentiator after adding Aroldis Chapman and Justin Wilson.

The problem in that search was that no high-end relievers had really begun to move. The market was cold heading into the new year and finally got a spark Friday night when the Toronto Blue Jays got a win over 2024 All-Star Jeff Hoffman. 3 year contract.
