This article includes spoilers “We're going to be in a lot of trouble” for Star Wars: Skeleton Crew Episode 7.
“Skeleton Crew” has been a refreshingly delightful family-friendly treat, and this week was no exception. After respecting the likes “Pirates of the Caribbean” and “The Goonies” Last week, episode 7, “We're Going to Be Hard,” revealed another hidden treasure via an interesting Sherlock Holmes cameo.
When the show's young heroes and Jod (Jude Law) return to At-Attin, the parents of the past are seen being detained briefly. security droids before the announcement was made to them and the rest of the planet's natives. The voice belongs to the unseen “Controller”, the supposed head of At-Atti's mint stock operation. He's polite, direct and charmingly British – and exactly what you'd expect from none other than comedian, writer and actor Stephen Fry.
For keen listeners of the show, Fry's voice is unmistakable and has already been applied to equally massive stories that are as beloved as many of the stories set in the “Star Wars” universe. Before Skeleton Crew, the actor could be heard narrating the Harry Potter audiobooks, as well as the Harry Potter audiobooks. A special meeting for the “Harry Potter” films and the 2005 film adaptation of The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. Coincidentally, also in 2011, Fry starred opposite Jude Law in Guy Ritchie's Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows as Holmes' brother Mycroft, who was somewhat overlooked. The only question is if these two will meet on screen before “Skeleton Crew” ends.
Can Stephen Fry's controller put an end to Jo in Skeleton Crew?
While Jod may finally be able to obtain the treasure he's been searching for for so long, the Overseer who manages At-Atti's mint supply has something to say about it. With the show's former “Sherlock Holmes” stars Fry and Law appearing on screen again seems inevitable, it would be great to see them on screen, this time as glorified bank managers in a galaxy far, far away. . Still, given that a talent like Fry is even on this series, there's more to this Supervisor than we know.
For a story that has spent so much time searching for Tak Rennod's treasure, it would be a great twist in the tale for the legendary pirate to finally appear as someone else entirely in Skeleton Crew. What if, in a “Wizard of Oz”-inspired twist, it turns out that the mysterious Warden is actually Rennod, and he's just ditched his pirate days for a simpler life to make his own gold? It would be great to see Fry come out from behind a big pile of credits and admit, “Yo ho, yo ho, the pirate life wasn't for me.” If so, we just hope Tak doesn't fly off the hilt of his lightsaber and go Sith lord in his beloved “Skeleton Crew.” Seriously, we go into Wookiee rage mode if our son Neel even gets a hair on his head.
“Star Wars: The Skeleton Crew” season 1 finale will air on January 14, 2025 at 6:00 PM PST on Disney+.
