Telegram's self-customial crypto wallet, developed by a third-party company called The open platform (Top), introduced new features for people who don't just use Telegram as a messaging app. Updates include multi-asset functions and yield functions.
Based on ton blockchainTop launched the purse in 2023. The company reported that more than 100 million users signed up for an account with a Telegram purse. In addition, it has been noted that most of these users are new to the crypto ecosystem.
The wallet product is primarily focused on Toncoin's cryptocurrency, which can be used on the telegram platform to tip creators or pay for mini-games and apps. It also supports Bitcoin and USDT (in ton blockchain). Since the initial launch, the purse also gained the support of other currencies such as notcoin.
Following the update today, Top said users can buy, sell, or hold crypto without on-chain deposits. This makes it easier for new users to get into crypto hold and trading.
The company also introduces a substance to earn in the purse for handling a certain amount of toncoin. It does not specify the harvest percentage or how much crypto you will need to handle to start earning. Later this year, top plans to add yields for USDT handling and launch loyalty programs that will benefit Toncoin holders.
The Telegram Wallet also underwent a makeover, with a new navigation bar underneath and an easy way to move between purse, trade, and earn sections.

The new wallet update will start rolling with users in March and April. Top said some features may be limited to some countries based on local regulations.
