Elon Musk has warned of Elon Musk Electric Company, and other American exporters can be affected by revenge against the trade tariffs of Donald Trump.
Mr. Musk is a close ally of the American president and leads the efforts to reduce the size of the federal government.
But in a non -signed message addressed to the American trade representative, Tesla said while “supports” a fair trade, it was concerned with American exporters “they were exposed to impartial monuments” if other countries were average to the customs tariff.
The message was awarded on the same day Trump hosted an event at the White House Where he promised to buy Tesla in a support offer for Mr. Musk.
It is not clear who wrote in Tesla the letter as it is not signed, or if Mr. Musk is aware of it.
The price of Tesla fell 40 % since the beginning of the year. Mr. Musk is the CEO of the auto industry, and while some have argued along with the Trump administration, it harms its brand, market analysts say that the fall of the share revolves around concerns about the goals of Tesla production and low sales during the past year.
In the letter, Tesla said that she is making changes to her supply chains to find the largest possible number of local suppliers for their cars and batteries, so it was less dependent on foreign markets.
“Nothing is less than that,” he warned, “even with the aggressive resettlement of the supply chain, some parts and components are difficult or impossible to obtain within the United States.”
The US President imposed an additional 20 % tariff on all imports from China, prompting Beijing to respond to revenge fees, including cars. China is the second largest market in Tesla after the United States.
“For example, the previous trade measures by the United States resulted in immediate reactions by the targeted countries, including increasing the definitions of imported EVS to those countries,” says the letter.
The European Union and Canada have threatened with overwhelming revenge for the customs tariff for steel and aluminum imports in the United States, which entered into force earlier this week.
The demonstrators have targeted Tesla showrooms in recent weeks in protest against Mr. Musk's role to reduce the costs in the Trump administration, as he heads the Ministry of Government efficiency (DOGE).
Earlier this week, Trump hosted an event at the White House He said that the people protest against Tesla should be called local terrorists, while he was sitting in the driver's seat in the new red Tesla, which he said he intended to buy.
Trump said the demonstrators “hurt a great American company,” and anyone who uses violence against the electric car maker “is going through hell.”
