Cameron Diaz is finally back in a movie, ending a 10-year hiatus from acting, and it's easy to forget that she walked away when she was at her peak as one of Hollywood's highest-grossing stars. In a world where it's common for stars and athletes to hang around a little too long, it's admirable that Diaz decided to take her money, invest in businesses she believes in, and choose the life she wants. But now she's back with one of her best friends, Jamie Foxx In action, A completely forgettable Netflix action comedy without Diaz.

In action It suffers from being a Netflix movie, needing the same standard awkward lighting in every scene and the characters actively talking about what they're doing, just so someone isn't watching the movie, but just burn as background noise. compared to Red noticeStreamer's other star-studded spy adventure, Foxx and Diaz's caper, is easily superior, but just as fluffy and inconsequential. There's no weight to interest, and anyone can wink at the camera while delivering silly lines of technobabble about ICS, but since the film has been number one since its debut, it's clear it's found an audience.
Topping Netflix's most popular movie since its debut, In action it's unoriginal, full of barely scratched characters, the weakest motivation for a villain, cheap-looking special effects, and yet, it's an absolute blast. is similar to The rush hour trilogy that the charm and star power of the leads elevates the rest of the film. Cameron Diaz hasn't lost a step and at the age of 52, she can play her second role in Hollywood as well as her first.
If it came out 10 years ago, In action would be in theaters, but the entertainment landscape has changed during Diaz's hiatus, and Netflix originals have the budget and star power of mainstream theatrical releases. Most movie fans will agree that this isn't a change for the better, and as fun as it is to see Cameron Diaz again, you can't help but wonder if we're missing something special. Still, 46.8 million people have already watched the film on Netflix, so it's still a huge hit despite its lackluster release.
