The highest Federal Prosecutor in Manhattan resigned on Thursday in the wake of a directive from the Ministry of Justice for the case of criminal bribery suspended in its office against the mayor of New York Eric Adams.

NBC News reported that Daniel Sasson, the American Prosecutor's lawyer for the southern region of New York, did not mention the Adams case in her prize letter, citing a senior official.

The criminal case against Adams has not been rejected from Thursday afternoon.

In September, Adams was accused by a major jury in the US District Court in Manhattan on charges of alleged bribery, fraud and campaigners' contribution scheme for a decade.
