“After accurate deliberations, we concluded that we cannot go ahead with the new stadium and development project at this moment,” Stirinberg said in a statement. “A series of events that start in October that no one could have expected to this difficult decision.”
Sternburg added that the organization is still committed to resolving the stadium issue.

“Our commitment to vitality and success in Rays is not shaken. We are still focusing on finding a stadium solution that serves the interest of our region and the baseball in the main league and our organization.”
“The main baseball game in the league is still committed to finding a permanent house for the club in the Tamba Bay area for their fans and the local community,” MLB said in a statement. “Commissioner Rob (Rob) understands the disappointment in St. Petersburg's community from today's announcement, but he will continue to work with elected officials, community leaders and radiology officials to secure the club's future in the Tampa Gulf region.”
