The US Department of Justice informs the public prosecutors to drop the case of Eric Adams


The US Department of Justice has requested the prosecutors to drop the charges of corruption against the mayor of New York City Eric Adams.

In a memorandum witnessed by the BBC, the Acting Public Prosecutor of Public Workers Emile Bouv, who was appointed by President Donald Trump, ordered federal prosecutors in the southern province of New York to end the case.

Adams was charged with five charges of bribery, conspiracy, and violations of the campaign financing in September. He admitted that he was not guilty.

He is accused of accepting the illegal campaign funds and thousands of dollars in the benefits of luxury travel from Turkish businessmen and responsible in exchange for his influence as a mayor.
