President Donald Trump said on Friday that there will be “flexibility” in the mutual tariff plan, so that he seemed to oppose the idea of making exceptions to the upcoming duties.
“People come to me and talk about customs tariffs, and many people ask me whether they can get exceptions,” Trump told reporters at the Oval Office.
“Once you do this for one, you have to do it for everyone,” he said.
Trump has developed the date of the start of April 2 for mutual definitions as the “Liberation Day” in America. Trump and his officials said that the plan will effectively set tariff rates for all countries with a tariff for American goods. Countries with other non -trivial trade policies that the Trump administration, such as value -added taxes, can subject to new duties.
